Or you may prefer an Aromatherapy full body massage using lavender oil, which smells delightful on the skin and is incredibly soft.
f. SEATRU Turtle Lab
Turtle lab is a private turtle conservatory owned by Taaras. You can see different types of turtles there. It is a great way to learn about the different types of turtles and their habitats while also seeing them up close. The staff was very knowledgeable and helped us identify different turtles we saw. The baby turtles were so tiny and cute! They have an incubation program to help the baby turtles hatch and release them into the sea when they’re old enough.
4. Dining
The main restaurant was the Asean All Day Dining, where we had a daily buffet breakfast every morning with a wide variety of international and Malaysian cuisine. The swimming pool is just in front of the All Day restaurant.
We also tried the beachfront bar for lunch one day, which had great sandwiches and salads. The beach brasserie is called The Cove.
We also had dinner à la carte at The Mare Nero fine dining restaurant, which is famous for its Indian cuisine.
All the restaurants only allow hotel guests to dine, which makes it exceptionally exclusive.
In-Room Dining We ordered chicken rice by room service, and the food was delivered promptly and tasted great. The kitchen staff did a great job cooking all the dishes with excellent taste and flavor.
5. Activities
Pulau Redang is blessed with a bountiful supply of natural resources, making it a nature lover’s paradise. The clear blue waters are excellent for swimming, snorkeling, and diving, and many pristine beaches to relax on. The lush rainforest is home to various flora and fauna, and there are several hiking trails to explore the island.
Redang is home to various wildlife, including beautiful turtles, which can often be seen swimming in the waters around the island. There are also many monkey species on the island, which can be a nuisance but are still fun to watch. You can also see monitor lizards, flying lemurs, and many different types of birds.

The resort has a private beach facing the South China Sea with pristine white sand and turquoise water. This beautiful beach is the perfect place to relax on the sunchair or take a dip in the sea. The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort is a beautiful, serene spot for kayaking. We rented a kayak from the resort and paddled around. It was a great way to explore Redang’s little nooks and crannies. The sea water is as clear as the swimming pool, and the scenery is breathtaking. We highly recommend it to others looking for a peaceful way to spend a day.
d. Turtle Discovery Snorkeling Experience
Out boatman brought us to a place just out of the private beach of Taaras, a popular place to snorkel as many giant turtles are swimming around.
e. Diving and snorkeling
You can have other recreational activities besides snorkeling at the recreation center. There are more than thirty diving sites around the Redang archipelago, consisting of nine islands. These dive sites are rich in various marine species and beautiful hard and soft corals. You can contact the recreation center to arrange your diving trip to any of these places.
f. Take a nature walk
We also joined the nature walk organized by the resort in the morning.
Starting from the recreational center, we took fifteen minutes to walk to a viewpoint through the jungle behind Taaras. It was an easy hike, and we all enjoyed the fantastic view from atop a hill overlooking both beaches on Redang island.

The fastest way is to take a boat ride from Merang Jetty, which takes about 45 minutes.
